Dr. Heiner Heimes Becomes Associate Professor at PEM
The chair "Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components" (PEM) of RWTH Aachen University, headed by Professor Achim Kampker, has strengthened its subject area of electric vehicle production. The previous Executive Chief Engineer, Dr. Heiner Heimes, has been honored for his outstanding achievements in research and teaching with an extraordinary professorship by Professor Wolfgang Schröder, dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
Heimes studied mechanical engineering with a focus on production technology at RWTH Aachen University and earned his doctorate in the field of production technology for lithium-ion batteries. In addition to his research in this field, Heimes holds various lectures on lithium-ion batteries at RWTH Aachen University and is involved as an international guest lecturer at the University of Warwick in England and at Tec de Monterrey in Mexico. As a member of the institute's management team, Heimes will continue to expand PEM's research fields together with Professor Achim Kampker. One focus will be on the production technology of the core components of the electric powertrain.
