Professor Achim Kampker Joins Panel for Assembly and Industrial Robotics


Electric mobility expert Professor Achim Kampker has been elected to the Scientific Society for Assembly, Handling, and Industrial Robotics (MHI). "Linking automation, artificial intelligence, and electric mobility production can make a crucial difference in competition," says the founder and director of the chair "Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components" (PEM) of RWTH Aachen University. "To achieve this, we need to make even better use of the diverse expertise in Germany," Kampker says.

New member on the Supervisory Board of MAHLE

The scientific association, founded in 2012 and based in Dortmund, is a network of leading university professors from German-speaking countries who conduct successful research in assembly, handling, and industrial robotics that is both basic and application-oriented. Kampker is one of 24 members who currently represent around 1,000 researchers through their institutes and chairs. The RWTH professor was also recently appointed to the 20-member supervisory board of Stuttgart-based automotive supplier MAHLE GmbH.

In addition to his expertise in electric mobility components and concepts in teaching and research, Professor Achim Kampker also has many years of experience in the management of start-ups and established companies. In addition to teaching at RWTH Aachen University, he serves as a member of the institute management of the "Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB". Kampker is involved in numerous projects and committees, including his participation in the expert group "Transformation of the Automotive Industry" (ETA) of the German Federal Ministry for Economics Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
