Industry 4.0 in E-Mobile Component Production
The PEM technology field "Data Science" deals with topics related to the digitized production of electric vehicle components. The researchers' expertise lies at the intersection of engineering science and data science. The result: optimal conditions for answering numerous questions in this interdisciplinary research area. The focus lies on generating, analyzing and interpreting relevant data volumes, including all preparatory measures – with the aim of making battery, electric motor and fuel cell production more efficient. Along the way, the researchers in this technology field work closely with partners from industry and science to bring new findings to industrial application quickly and in a targeted manner.

- Identification of data-based potentials and approaches in battery, electric motor and fuel cell production
- Comparison and selection of suitable sensor and measurement technology for data acquisition including system connection and data exchange
- Data storage and data processing including subsequent data evaluation through the use of suitable analysis methods (data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning)
- Conceptual design and implementation of a digital twin (product, production and building)
- Conducting feasibility and profitability analyses for digitisation projects
- Planning, consulting and implementation of digitalisation projects in electric vehicle component production (before or during the start-up phase/serial production)
- Conducting seminars and training courses as an advanced training opportunity for engineers
