Short introduction to the Course

Manufacturing companies are dependent on offering an efficient execution of production orders, through the composition of processes and structures. General connections and tasks will be presented within the context of production systems. Possible approaches and operational measures are discussed practically. In particular, questions about investment opportunities, cost-benefit estimations etc. are included.

The second part outlines the use of computers in these divisions. Introduction, implementations and use of CAx-Systems, of Computer Integrated Manufactoring (CIM) as well as of further special computing systems and solutions will be presented.

The course Production Management II is organized by the Chair for Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) of the RWTH Aachen, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of the RWTH Aachen and the associated institute FIR at the RWTH Aachen.
