Eligibility

The following groups of individuals are eligible to participate in the events offered by the Center for Doctoral Studies:

  • All doctoral candidates of the RWTH faculties 1 through 8
  • Doctoral candidates at the Faculty of Medicine who are studying for a “Dr. rer. Medic.” or “Dr. nat. med.” degree
  • Doctoral candidates who are enrolled in a structured doctoral program or a graduate school at RWTH Aachen, but who will receive their degree from a partner university of RWTH Aachen.
  • Doctoral candidates from other universities who are working at Forschungszentrum Jülich

Registration

You can register for CDS events online. Registration for seminars and workshops is possible over the course of the program as long as seats are still available. Please carefully read the seminar description.

For the registration for Soft Skill-Trainings des Forschungszentrums Jülich please note the current regulations there.

You must have your superior's permission to participate.

 

Registration Confirmation

You will receive an confirmation email after submitting the registration form.

Notification Service

If an event is fully booked you can sign up for the notification service or waiting list. You will automatically receive an email as soon as seat is available. Book the event using the booking system as quickly as possible. If the registration button is gone in your participant portal, then the event is full again. If you do not want to receive any more notifications for an event, you can remove yourself from the waiting list by clicking "Stornieren" underneath the respective seminar.

 

Cancellation

If you have registered for a course but cannot participate, please cancel your registration as quickly as possible in the participant portal by clicking "Stornieren" under the respective seminar. If you can no longer access your participant portal, we will accept a cancellation via . By cancelling your registration you free up your spot for someone on the waitlist.

If you do not cancel your registration and do not come to the event, it is possible that this will restrict you from registering for any future CDS events.

Costs

All CDS events are free of charge. However participants are responsible for any additional costs, such as overnight stays and food.

 

Evaluation

After every course, you will receive an evaluation form. Please fill this out and give it directly to the whomever lead the seminar. In doing so, you help us to improve the quality of our seminars and workshops. Alternatively, you can scan the evaluation and it to the CDS, turn it into our office in person, or mail it to the CDS.
