"Electric Mobility: Fundamentals of a Progressive Technology"

Book Think – Big Start Small Copyright: © PEM of RWTH Aachen University

There is no doubt about it: The automotive industry is undergoing a profound transformation. Electric mobility is fundamentally changing previous vehicle and drive concepts. Determined by new vehicle components such as the battery, power electronics, electric motor, and fuel cell, the entire value creation process is changing. This work provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and solutions in all areas: from product development and the manufacture of electric vehicles to the establishment of an infrastructure, novel business models, and the potentials of sustainability.

Third edition offers completely renewed content

How far back does the history of electric mobility go? Which specific systems can be found in an electric vehicle and how are they manufactured up to the complete automobile? What are the technical and legal/regulatory framework conditions governing electric mobility? What is the status of the necessary infrastructure? Which new business models are emerging along the e-mobility value chain? And how sustainable is electric mobility really? This book provides answers to these and other questions in seven informative chapters. For the third edition, all content has been restructured and brought up to date with the latest technological developments.
